“Dear Family at Grace,

I enjoy all my classes, but this week I want to talk a little bit about my Advanced English class.  This is a small group of ten very sharp juniors and seniors who want to use their English skills to continue on to higher education.  Each week we read a chapter in the book, “The 21 Indispensible Qualities of a Leader” by John Maxwell.  If you haven’t read this book, I would highly recommend it.  This week our quality was generosity.  The example was Elizabeth Elliott’s generosity in giving her life, time, and talents to the people who had killed her husband.  This reading led to a very interesting conversation.  One young lady said that what Elizabeth did would be like the class going to the north of Mitrovica and helping the Serbs.  She couldn’t understand how Elizabeth could do what she did.  Challenge:  Most of us face similar challenges regardless of where we live in the world.  Balancing everything I have to do and knowing what is essential are my challenges.  Continue to pray for wisdom, as I work on the MOU.  I had a meeting Friday night with two officials and it is back to the drawing board again.  Please continue to pray for Arta.  She continues to lose strength and is losing her hearing now.  Amazing Act:  To be honest, I had one of those weeks where I didn’t recognize anything I would call amazing.  It was one of those weeks where I stopped to ask, “Is it really worth it?”  Isaiah 48:18 explains that if we obey God’s commands then we will have peace like a river.  A river is constantly moving.  Sometimes it’s calm.  Sometimes rapids sweep us away faster than we can catch our breath.  Sometimes we can’t see around the bend.  Life is like that.  It is constantly changing.  New challenges, new joys and new hardships can sweep us away, but through it all we can have peace because our satisfaction comes in God alone.  That’s amazing.  Thank you for your love and support.  Thanks for hanging on when the river gets rough.  Have a great week!  Love, Nadine
