- Revelation 12:11
Chapter 12 is worthy of thorough study, but in the beginning of this chapter we have a flashback.
- The Virgin Birth (v. 5) – “And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.” – The “she” in this passage is speaking of Israel, but the birth is speaking of the man child: Jesus Christ.
- The Vicious Battle (v. 7) – “And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels.” – This battle takes place in Heaven. The “dragon” is Satan, and he does have limited access to the throne of God. See Job 1 and 2. Satan comes before God to accuse the brethren (12:10) – “…for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before God day and night.”
- The Victory by the Blood (v. 11) – “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.”
I plead the blood!
Personal Application:
There are days when discouragement will set into your heart. There are days when the enemy will seem to have the upper hand, and the enemy may be the very source of your discouragement. When you think the battle is at an standstill, or when you think you are losing ground – PLEAD THE BLOOD. Lay claim to this truth! The blood of Christ is the purchase price of redemption (I Peter 1:18 – 19). The blood of Christ is the cleansing agent of the soul (I John 1:7 – 9). The blood of Christ has opened up a new and living way for us. Enter boldly into the presence of the Father, and ask in the Name of Jesus Christ. Plead by the blood that causes us to be overcomers.
