Ride the Duck!

On Saturday, “the Way” college and career class had a unique, but fun, activity.  In Cincinnati, OH you can ride a duck.  Yep, you read that right!  We got to ride the ducks!

The ducks are amphibious vehicles that begin driving down the road, just like normal traffic.  We then take a turn into the Ohio River and ride in the water for about 30 minutes.  It was a great trip!  Praise the Lord that no one fell overboard.

Get involved in what is happening with this new class.  You can follow them on Facebook at: “the Way” (click here)

The Revival Week in Review

The Grace Baptist Church of Middletown, OH celebrated 65 years in existence this past week.  Dr. John Hamblin preached, and the Lord did bless with souls saved and some baptisms!  Praise the Lord.

Friday Night

On Friday night, we celebrated our Enabled Ministries.  There were 20 visitors from Enabled present.  The evening began with dinner at the Enabled facility.  Things did not look hopeful when we realized that our bus would not restart.  In spite of the minor set back, we were able to get all of the visitors to the service for the preaching time.  Following the service the church partook of a dessert afterglow to cap off a great week.

Thank You

Thank you to all of you who worked diligently during the week of revival.  Thank you to the staff.  Thank you to those who provided meals.  Thank you to those who sang in the choir.  Thank you to all who took part in the week.  God was glorified.

One Night Left…Great Fifth Night

This evening came to a close, and it was nothing less than wonderful.  The Lord has been blessing each evening.  The preaching has been tremendously helpful.

Special Prayer Request

As we enter our final evening, please pray for something special that will be taking place on Friday evening.  For the last couple of weeks several individuals have been working to organize a dinner at the Enabled Ministry.  We will be shuttling people to the Enabled building for dinner.  Following the dinner, we will shuttle individuals to the service.  Please pray for souls to be saved, and Christians to be revived!

Looking Ahead

Just as a reminder, Friday night is pack-the-pew night.  Please invite someone to be in attendance with you.  Also, following the evening service there is a dessert afterglow in the gymnasium.  God bless you, and we will see you there!

General Thoughts

It is hard to believe that there are only two evenings left of this 65th Anniversary Revival week at Grace.  God has tremendously used the preaching to speak to many of the members here.  If you are reading this and have been in attendance at the services, what has God spoken to you about during this week?  Take time to meditate about how the Lord has worked in your heart.

This Evening

This evening was different in a way that is hard to explain.  The Lord exceeded expectations in many areas.  The evening began with a small dinner at 6:15.  Following that the service began at 7:00 PM.  The music was glorifying to God as was the message.  The message was out of II Samuel 3, where the Word of God speaks of the lamp of God going out in the temple.  If our local church is to continue to have the light of God here:

  • We must continue to proclaim the Bible.
  • Brotherhood (brotherly love) must be practiced!
  • A burden must be pronounced!  We must have a burden.

At the conclusion of the service the altars were once again full.  What a wonderful thing when God moves within the heart of the His people.

The Chief End

In truth, the chief end and object of all of these meetings is that God would be glorified.  We desire revival in our hearts, but why is this?  The reason is that ultimately God would be glorified.  We desire souls to be saved, but why?  The reason is that ultimately God would receive all of the honour and glory.

Photos and Highlights:

Tonight, one of the families who was involved in the tutoring ministry joined us for the services.  They were recognized with a certificate and gift at the conclusion.  Praise the Lord!

In addition, Mrs. Collins brought 11 visitors to win the special gift.  Praise God!

Looking Ahead:

Thursday night, the emphasis is on the Sunday school classes.  We are asking that each Sunday school have maximum participation, primarily through prayers and attendance.

DAY THREE!!!

It was again a tremendous blessing to be a part of this service tonight.  The message tonight was needed in a great way.  The title was “The School of Storms.”  This message was for the believers who are going through the storms in life.  It was a tremendous challenge and encouragement.

It is great to see the Lord working in the hearts of the people.  The alters continue to be full, and there is truly a sweet spirit.  We are expecting that God will send a mighty revival.

Here are some photos from the evening.

For each person that brings the most visitors on any given night, a very special gift is given away.  Congratulations, Zola!

Day THREE has now come and gone.  Don’t miss Wednesday.  We will begin the evening with a small dinner at 6:15 PM in the Howard Sears Field house.

  • We will also be recognizing our families from the tutoring ministry at Enabled.
  • Lastly, the emphasis for the evening is “KIDZ” & “YOUTH.”
